Who Is Sam Thompson?
Thompson who is 26 years old as of now, is a flight attendant from the Ryanair Steward flights he drank Jack Daniels Whiskey from the drinks trolley of the airplane and the flight was still in the air while he was drinking. A witness told the court that Thompson was drinking alcohol from the cart and he then drank a whole bottle of wine which he took out from his pocket. A witness who saw the scene was left in shock and confronted the story in front of the court. He admitted the crime and as a member of the cabin, it is offensive. Thompson is the resident of Warrenfield Close, Cheshunt in Hertfordshire, England. Thompson is asked to appear at the court at Chelmsford magistrate court on the 3rd of August and sources are claiming that there is a high chance of him being jailed or imprisoned.
Why Was Flight Attendant Sam Thompson Suspended?
When the incident occurred on the 18th of May, 2022, the witness reported the incident to the police, and immediately Thompson was arrested after he was done with the duty. An article which was published by the sun showcased a video in which he was drinking openly and was seen being ignorant in his duties. He was seen drinking clearly in the video and it was enough for the evidence. According to the prosecutor, Nishma Khan, Thompson was seen drinking alcohol by the witness, and then he was filmed by the witness. When he reached the airport and was interrogated by the police, around 50 micrograms of alcohol were found in his breath of 100 ml, the volume was eventually reduced to 39 micrograms as he was taken to the police station.
Sam Thompson Suspended Reason
Ryanair airlines fired Thompson immediately when they heard about the case, and the prosecutor also said that the limit is just 5 but he reached much more than the given limits. Ryanair airlines fired him for violating their policies and code of misconduct. This was not the first time Thompson was taken into consideration earlier to this Thompson was made to face 2 years in jail for the crime he committed while he was in the Railroad and Traffic safety back in 2003. Currently, Thompson is on bail but he is asked to appear at the hearing on the 3rd of August at the court. The flight at which Thompson had a dink was handled by the sister company of Ryanair airlines, which is Lauda Europe. The policy of this airline as well does not allow access to alcohol while the attendants are on-duty.
