He wrote by taking his brother’s life as an inspiration. Anthony Bryan the brother of Stephen, came a long way in his life and fought deportation because of the Windrush Scandal. It was a British scandal in which people who came from different places to the U.K were deported and detained in 1973. The film was a direction by Stella Corradi and was produced by Left Bank Pictures. The star in the movie was, Patrick Robinson. The series was broadcasted on BBC and was awarded as the best single drama, by BAFTA. The series was broadcasted on BBC One, in June of 2020.

The magazines such as The observer, The Voice, Wasafiri, Five Dials, and Arena were written by Stephen. Apart from being a writer, Stephen was also an Editor and publisher. He published an online literary journal called The Colverstone Review. HE was also a speaker and spoke at a number of events, in order to motivate people and especially students to become a writer. Stephen lectures at Winchester University and Birkbeck College as well to start the creative writing process for students. He also taught Screenwriting at Central Film School which is in London. His family said that Stephen passed away at the age of 56 and was battling cancer for a month.

As he wanted to be in the comfort of his home and with his family, he was at his house and with his loved ones in the last moments of his life. His family is heartbroken, but at the same time is proud of what he was both personally and professionally. The BAFTA also addressed his death and said that they were sorry to hear about the demise of the writer and sent their condolences to the family of the deceased. Krish Majumdar, the chairman of BAFTA addressed the death and wrote on Twitter saying, that he was devastated to hear about the demise of the writer. He said that the world lost a blazing talent and Stephen was his friend and Colleague as well. He said that he feels lucky to work with Stephen and bathed in his excellence.
