Who Was Cleatus Lebow?
Cleatus was raised in Abernathy, Texas, he joined the armed forces, the Navy, back in 1943 and a year after he was signed for the USS Indianapolis CA-35. When Cleatus was alive, he said that when he saw the ship for the first time, he was just amazed and thought that the ship was a sleek and good-looking ship. He added that he boarded the ship for sail and as an adventure coming ahead. The ship which was in the water and started at Mare Island sank on the 30th of July 1948 with thousands of people sinking it was clearly an attack by the Hiroshima Atomic bomb from a submarine which was led by captain Mochitsura Hashimoto.

On the day of the incident, the submarine fired two torpedoes at the shop and it stuck the Indianapolis ship. Of the 1195 people who were on the deck, 3000 died on the spot due to the massive explosion, while the others who were alive ran for their life and humped on the life boast. They then moved on to an island in the Philippines which had tons of sharks, oils, and salts on a higher level. Apparently many people died, and from them 317 sailors were alive, and of them were Cleatus and Bray who were the youngest of all, while Bray was the youngest of the sailors, he is 95 years old now and celebrated his 95th birthday last year.

Cleatus was living away from his wife for a long time, while he returned from the ship and the horrific and life-threatening journey, Cleatus remained on land and worked as an employee at a phone company for over 40 years, and at that time he returned to live with his wife at his house in Texas. In his last stages of life, he was with his family and was raised by his family. Last year in November, Cleatus’s wife, Joan passed away after which, Cleatus used to say that he wanted to leave and go home, while Indianapolis said in a statement that the religious man has now reunited with his wife. He passed away this Thursday, the 29th of September, 2022.
